Using Wildblue.vbs FAP Script -- What happened?
5/4/2009 20:00,5938,506
5/4/2009 21:00,5939,507 5/4/2009 22:00,5939,507 5/4/2009 23:00,5939,507 5/5/2009 00:00,0,0 5/5/2009 01:00,0,0 5/5/2009 02:00,0,0 5/5/2009 03:00,0,0 5/5/2009 04:00,0,0 5/5/2009 05:00,0,0 5/5/2009 06:00,0,0 5/5/2009 07:00,0,0 5/5/2009 08:00,0,0 5/5/2009 09:00,0,0 5/5/2009 10:00,0,0 5/5/2009 11:00,0,0 5/5/2009 14:08,0,0 The last reading was manual because I just got done doing a big old boot time Check Disk. I think it is not coincidence that it stopped working at midnight here, but I don't know. I know back a little over a month ago Fapzilla stopped working for many. I also discovered today that the Google WB FAP gadget doesn't work any more. I also know that the new usage tool that they have doesn't give hard numbers. I agree with a poster on a previous thread that WB doesn't want it to be easy for us to check our usage. To use the new page https://myusage.wildblue.net/UsageGUI you have to log in each and every time you want to check. What a pain.

the same thing happened here in SW Virginia. Everything has gone along quite well until I went online this morning and have gotten nothing but zeros...
5/4/2009 23:00,11644,326 5/4/2009 23:18,11687,328 5/4/2009 23:22,11687,328 5/5/2009 09:02,0,0 5/5/2009 09:03,0,0 5/5/2009 09:04,0,0 5/5/2009 09:07,0,0 5/5/2009 09:08,0,0 5/5/2009 09:12,0,0 5/5/2009 09:46,0,0 5/5/2009 10:25,0,0 5/5/2009 10:33,0,0 5/5/2009 10:55,0,0 5/5/2009 10:55,0,0 5/5/2009 11:05,0,0 5/5/2009 11:07,0,0 5/5/2009 11:34,0,0 5/5/2009 11:41,0,0 5/5/2009 12:08,0,0 5/5/2009 12:12,0,0 5/5/2009 14:51,0,0 5/5/2009 19:36,0,0 I have not had this before, but understand others have. I also note that the usage gauge on the dishmail site (I have my account with Dish) is showing an expected increase in percent usage based on my own numbers for some downloading I did today. When I try to manually access my usage using the link that has been posted here previously, I get the following now.... <content unauthorizedAccess="true"> <package/> <downloadlimit high="0" low="0">0</downloadlimit> <uploadlimit high="0" low="0">0</uploadlimit> <downloadused>0</downloadused> <uploadused>0</uploadused> </content> That is for the following link..... http://myaccount.dishmail.net/wbisp/..._xml.jsp?u=(my user name inserted here)

I agree about the frustration. I have the advantage of having access to another means of downloading things when I go to work (4 nights a week), but here where I live it's either Wildblue or Hughes..... and at least I learned early on to keep my own daily records (although i note that the usage meter I use does not always jive with what WB's usage showed when I am able to access the info from them.) Since they have to have some means of continuing to measure the actual numbers, i am hoping someone with more advanced IT knowledge than I might once again figure out another work-around.

Well, this is not good. I relied on those numbers to make sure no one was bouncing stuff off my modem (whch seemed to happen occasionally after using IRC) and to make sure I wasn't hit with phantom usage spikes. A few of those in a row could easily put a person over limit.
My last non-zero return was at 1 AM Central. That's about the time the phantom usage spikes hit if they're going to, although I haven't seen one in quite some time. Hook

Yup, fapzilla is dead.
5/1/2009 17:00:03 489 3905 5/2/2009 17:00:02 514 3923 5/3/2009 17:00:02 ERROR ERROR 5/4/2009 17:00:04 ERROR ERROR 5/5/2009 17:00:02 ERROR ERROR They just can't leave things alone, can they? Pulse is a pain. PS- on a side note, I noticed that Pulse no longer gives dB loss info. Just silly check marks that says everything is "ok". ![]() Last edited by YellowHammer : 05-05-2009 at 10:18 PM. |

Bottom line is I'm just more number oriented, especially since when I first signed on with WB the Fapmeter gave the actual number as well as a graphical representation. That and I like being able to look back and see what I used over time. I've heard of Pulse in another thread but a search here (wildblue.cc) and a Google there didn't turn it up for me. Can you give me a link YellowHammer? TIA.

Hrm, I don't think Pulse has been released to the public. There are no direct links on the WB website or forums. It also doesn't appear in a google search. I has also been moderated a few times. I don't think it's safe to share.

I also created an application to display my download and upload on my desktop using http://myaccount.dishmail.net/wbisp/..._xml.jsp?u=(my user name inserted here) and we all know this no longer works. What I bring you is an alternative, this has been tested with @wildBlue and @dishmail and works. If anyone has a different email aka,..@att please let me know if this also works for you. Enter this in your browser and if it works you will see something like this... DATA_TABLE|5.7|17.0|34 %|NORMAL|1.5|5.0|30 %|NORMAL 1. 5.7 being your current download usage 2. 17.0 being your max download allowed 3. 34% being your downloaded percentage 4. Normal (unsure) 5. 1.5 being your current upload usage 6. 5.0 being your max upload allowed 7. 30% being your uploaded percentage 8. Normal (unsure) If anyone has an idea of what the normal in this case represents I would like to know. Here is the url, just add your email to the end... https://portal.servicecenter.wildblu...E&UserName=(my user name inserted here) If this works for everyone I will be able to repair my application and of course you will also be able to repair yours. |

Thank you! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is what I got..... for a dishmail account DATA_TABLE|12.2|17.0|72 %|NORMAL|0.3|5.0|7 %|NORMAL These numbers line up with my own records. By the way.... I took the long link you provided, added my email, and made a shorter one for myself using Tinyurl.com and it works!!! (If anyone else does this for themselves, remember to add your email at the end of the link WildBlueGhost has provided.) With much appreciation to you WildBlueGhost!!!

The up and down power in dBm and SNR numbers are inside Pulse details 'satellite' tab.

I had already figured out how to do that from the URL in the source code, but had not shared that yet, so thanks for doing it. However that does not give me the real numbers. I get 5.9 -- not, for example. 5924. I know that doesn't matter so some people but I prefer the real number. I know a lot of us do. I know this gives us every 100 but is WildBlue is purposely hiding the real numbers? Is this an admission that the real numbers aren't real? I don't know. To me not being able to get the raw numbers smells a bit fishy. Keeping people in the dark, especially after they have seen the light is not always the best business practice.

P.S. I'm guessing, but I have no way to know that "normal" means that you are below 80% and that is what triggers a green display in the graph. If there is anyone who is over 80% who can test it, please let us know.
