Why make it difficult?

Why make it difficult for us to control our usage? Fapzilla has quit working again after becoming erratic for a few days.

I should think they would want their users to comply with policy which is what fapzilla permits us to do. I ve lost track of time but I would guess I've been fighting this for about thee years come April.

I normally take readins twice a day and control family usage accordingly.

Strange stuff!.

Expecting a company to maintain the requirements of a third party's software is unreasonable. WB provides a volume monitoring tool(s) and there are other monitoring applications like NetMeter.

II don't know what the considerations are or who is responsible for what but I am required to keep my usage within the terms of the Wildblue contract and the only means I have for doing that is the usage information provided by wildblue!

Today it is working noramlly and I am satisfied as long as it dfoes that. But the address for obtaining the data has changed several times and each time it leaves me not knowing where I stand.

"Expecting a company to maintain the requirements of a third party's software is unreasonable. WB provides a volume monitoring tool(s) and there are other monitoring applications like NetMeter."

I miss the point here though, am I to stay within the usage requirements without them having a responsibility to provide usage data? I don't even know how they come up wit the numbers they provide, I can only accept them and without them I am completely in the dark!

I will clarify the point you are missing. Fapzilla was created for use by one of our forum members, to help users on Wildblue. Wildblue is under no obligation to patronize third-party programs such as this.

It is YOUR responsibity as an adult to monitor your online activities. Why should Wildblue care if a program they did not create and distribute occassionally does not work?

Actually Fapzilla always works flawlessly. It just reports that there is no data available.

One may as an alternative go to: http://myaccount.wildblue.net/wbisp/...get_xml.jsp?u=Your WB ID, without the @wildblue.net and get the values.

Yesterday and today my Visual Basic Script file which reads multiple FAP meters when errors are returned, began having difficulty reading the meters. There may be a network problem similar to what was happening in December 2008.

There seems to be some misunderstanding about the cause of the problem.

Fapzilla is not changing. Wildblue is not providing data at the usual place so I conclude that something is broke or they have changed the addres again without notice. To me that is much like the post office changing your zip code and not telling you ... Fapzilla still works erratically, when data is provided. Wildblue doesn't have to fix Fapzilla, only provide a constant stream of the data they expect me to comply to.

Simple!

Yes, I thank you for that information. I was able to create a simple Linux script to save that date while Fapzilla is unable to find its data.

Thanks for the help.
