no longer allowed to go over 70 percent ?
Ok a couple days ago My fap was at 39 percent upload and 40 some download. For some odd reason it had been stuck at the same numbers for a few days. then bam i get faped which is strange because i had not dled anything in a few days. So i call WB because i'm concerned as to why my fap spiked so much so quickly and i was told a couple interesting things. The lady said they only update the fap once a month now and that customers will be faped if they use over 70 percent. I hope she was confussed because that seems mighty unfair as it cheats customers out of 30 percent of their alloted bandwith and a fap meter that updates once a month is nearly useless. Anyway is it true that we are only allowed to use 70 percent?

I have been over 70% of the download threshold of the Value Pack for more than a month without being slowed down. The NRTC FAP meter is still returning values updated with a lag less than one hour. I am not sure about the Wildblue FAP meter located at the ikano server because I stopped using it after it began returning errors frequently. The others seem to be working okay including the one used at the Wildblue/Google portal.
As far as I know the customer service representative is incorrect on both issues.

I run above 70% fairly often without trouble. I'm on the value plan, so my 70% line is 5250MB. Here is some of my recent history above 70%:
Code:

BTW, I no longer receive warnings from the NRTC when I approach my FAP threshhold.

WB claims this hysteresis effect is to prevent constant toggling of state when you are near 100%. I think they could have set the limit at 90% and achieved that effect. I believe the 70% number is purely punitive.

The FAP meter is not always consistent. Sometimes mine updates every 15 minutes, other times hourly and still other times at 12 hour intervals. It has quirks. To really understand it you need to use Fapzilla and Task Scheduler to collect periodic readings of the FAP meter and other software to read your actual usage. After collecting sufficient data, copy it into a spreadsheet and plot graphs like I did in FAP Flap Follow-up (Feb. 28, 2007).

Fap
I've been on WB going on four years in Sept 2009. When my FAP Counter Stats quit working I just kept my normal surfing and downloading and never been Faped yet. Knock on wood!
