Oh gosh. I really needed a belly laugh this morning and this did it! How did Jimmy Buffet put it? "If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane."

I do have one serious question on this matter. Has anyone who has experienced this (FAP meter not subtracting on a rolling 30 day schedule) ever had WB/Dish correct it?
If not, then it all becomes moot for me as I am not going to spend either the money or time to be the "first." If so, then it would be helpful to hear what you had to do in order to get a resolution. Although I do like to whine about my own frustrations with things from time to time, I knew what I was getting into when i signed up for WB - (most of all due to finding this forum before signing a contract) and even with the "loss" of download bandwidth (on the schedule I was expecting) it still beats the only other alternative where I live (really, really crappy dialup.) Even if... (and it is becoming much more of a very big IF) ...the promised "wireless" system the local government keeps promoting does get installed and up and running, it will be months after my WB/Dish contract ends that it will reach where I actually live. (I started my contract in Oct 07) (A very positive aside is that our local installer has been extremely responsive and quick on coming to repair my daughter-in-laws system (she works from home) when it had problems.) There is no question that I would switch to a more economical system if it becomes available after my contract runs out, but considering the alternative at present, (the above mentioned dialup) WB/Dish..... (even if it only worked 25-50% of the time as "promoted" - and I will note that other than the bandwidth "loss" my actual average speeds are close to the "promoted" speeds 80-90% of the time that I am online) ......is worth the costs and occasional frustration. fwiw

An update.....
The FAP is again working as my own documentation expects it to. Tuesday (4/22) it was due to subtract a little over 400 MB and did so. Yesterday it was due to subtract nothing and did so. Today it was due to subtract a little over 500 MB (give or take) and it did so. So at present it seems to be working in a fashion that allows me to plan my future downloads a little better. The lesson in all of this for me? Never count my bandwidth bank until it's actually there. (And even then plan ahead for the possibility of undocumented garnishment of the balances.)

I got 2 odd increases on the upload side at 16:15 and at 17:30 both around 200MB, my router did not register any actual data going out, and typically uploads for me are 20-40MB/day, so the blip is fairly significant.
Anyone else see this sort of blip? My data is below: 05/09/2008 15:45:38 665 6456 05/09/2008 16:01:01 665 6456 05/09/2008 16:15:52 848 6443 05/09/2008 16:30:47 849 6444 05/09/2008 16:45:37 849 6450 05/09/2008 17:01:01 849 6450 05/09/2008 17:15:53 848 6439 05/09/2008 17:30:46 1034 6459 05/09/2008 17:45:43 1034 6459 05/09/2008 18:01:02 1034 6459 Roger |

That's unusual. Even when uploading a file, the download usage increases a little. My FAP meter is not showing fictional upload usage like yours.

I've seen 6 of these unexplained spikes over the last couple of weeks. First on the 26th - 27th of April:

On downloads I see around 1/10 upload traffic (ie 1MB upload for every 10MB of download) to service the download. I don't believe I have change my habits, almost everything I do is download, I don't do any significant uploads except to further the downloads. I still have to wonder how many programming classes the person implementing the FAP program failed, this is not complicated stuff. And I looked a bit further back, and there lots of weird upload spikes happening here is all spikes above 100MB from the last reading: 02/07/2008 08:17:41 462 before: 290 03/09/2008 04:17:41 723 before: 609 03/22/2008 00:18:15 572 before: 464 03/23/2008 00:17:41 589 before: 461 03/24/2008 01:17:41 594 before: 451 03/25/2008 00:17:41 607 before: 446 04/08/2008 00:16:18 497 before: 395 04/09/2008 00:16:22 504 before: 397 04/20/2008 00:16:21 557 before: 430 04/21/2008 00:16:20 557 before: 427 04/22/2008 00:33:30 557 before: 426 04/22/2008 03:31:34 610 before: 425 04/23/2008 00:16:20 742 before: 604 04/24/2008 00:16:18 743 before: 606 04/25/2008 00:16:19 743 before: 609 04/26/2008 00:16:19 743 before: 612 04/27/2008 00:31:38 743 before: 612 04/28/2008 00:16:17 743 before: 608 04/29/2008 00:16:18 743 before: 609 05/08/2008 00:30:46 765 before: 662 05/09/2008 16:15:52 848 before: 665 05/09/2008 17:30:46 1034 before: 848 Notice that a lot of the spikes are happening at the same time. Has anyone ever tried a class action suit against WB about fake FAP stuff? Or any kind of lawsuit that was successful in getting internal documents through the legal discovery process or subpoenas?

Prosecute, then sue.

You might find the Colorado Attorney General or the US Attorney better able to help. Many competent people have documented their continuing fraud for years. Getting them convicted on RICO or state fraud charges would be a good first step towards changing their business practices.
