So, is it 70,75,80% what??
What is the REAL percent figure for when coming back down from a FAP. Some say 70%, some 75. I've been "reinstated" myself at 80% when I went over one other time.
I'm currently sitting at 76 (on the way back down from 100); PULSE is showing GREEN for both UP and DOWN; yet I'm still running slower than doggie-doo. Anyone know for certain?? Thanks Boo |

We will notify you via your WildBlue contact email address if your Usage Total reaches 80% or more of the Usage Threshold. If at any time your Usage Total is above the Usage Threshold, your usage has violated the FAP and we will reduce your WildBlue access speeds, typically to 128 kbps in the downstream (from the Internet to you) and 28 kbps in the upstream (from you to the Internet), and you may experience a loss of connectivity during peak usage periods (collectively, “Reduced Access”). Once your speeds have been reduced, you must decrease your usage to bring your Usage Total to 70% or less of the Usage Threshold. Once your Usage Total reaches this level, your access speeds will be restored to the original speed levels by the next day. You can read the full Fair Access Policy here: http://wildblue.com/legal/WildBlue_F...8-Feb-2008.pdf

Its 70% to be restored
When I got Fapp'd last year (GD kids and youtube) on the pro plan my speeds were not restored until my cumulative usage dropped down to 11.9 gigs.
It took a long month, with the modem shut off for a month.

The nebulous-reading legal mumbo-jumbo of the FAP document makes it seem that you can NOT go over 80% EVER. That's simply not true as I regularly run in the mid 90% with never a problem. But then again, this IS WB where the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. Since PULSE is about the newest thing around, I'd hoped it would be accurate when the bandwidth graph turned green. I guarantee that if I make a call to CS and then make the same call tommorrow, one will tell me 80% the other 70%. I've had it happen. However, in spite of all the above, I DO thank you for your reply. Boo |

The usage at which one is unFAPed has changed twice over the existence of Wildblue.
From June 2005 through December 2005 the FAP reset at the first of the month. From January 2006 through July 2007 the speeds were restored within 24 hours of both usages dropping below 80%. Since August 1, 2007, the speeds are restored within 24 hours of both usages dropping below 70%.

Running at consistent levels of 90% or 99% will not get you FAP'ed...however, once you trip over the 100% level the policy states you will remain in the restricted mode until your usage returns to 70% of your package limits. That being said, I've seen WB make exceptions to the "down to 70%" rule but it's on a case-by-case decision...if they restore your speeds when you return to 80% of your usage limits then count yourself lucky...or you pleaded your case to WB and they responded...but the "Policy" says "back down to 70%".... ![]()
