FAP spreadsheet
For those Microsoft Office users familiar with Excel, I created this small spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2002. It's a simple calculator, allowing you to enter your daily usage in a calendar like format. The basic concept is simple. As you enter your daily data, the "Rolling Total" column keeps track of your 30 day total, and adds that days entry to your running 30 day total, while dropping off data 30 days previous to this.
To use the spreadsheet is simple. The green columns are where you enter your daily data. Pick the right month's column (from the top), and the right days row (from the left side), and enter your usage for that day. As you enter data, the column to the right of the green column (Rolling Total), will keep a running 30 day total for you. If I did this right, when you enter the 31'st day's data, data from day one will drop off. Since the spreadsheet covers an entire years worth of calculations, you should be able to continue to use this spreadsheet year after year without doing anything but enter your daily data. The light blue cells at the bottom of the spreadsheet are totals for the month. They simply sum all the data for that you entered that month for you. If I set this up right, you should not be able to edit the formulas in the "Rolling Total" column, but should easily be able to input data into the daily entry column. Since this is a first attempt at something of this sort, its bound to have errors, or have ways it can be improved. As such, if you need to edit the spreadsheet, the password is "wb" (thats without quotes and no caps). If things are right with the calculations, you shouldn't have to edit the spreadsheet...but in case you need to make edits, you have the password. The only reason its protected with a password is to prevent fumble fingered typists (myself included) from accidentally changing formulas and throwing off your results. So where do I get daily usage info from? There are numerous places on the web that offer usage programs. Here are three of them that I am familiar with. There are many others out there. Freeware version of PRTG from Paessler....available here http://www.paessler.com/prtg/?ref=PRTG NetMeter...available here http://readerror.gmxhome.de/ BitMeter http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2 The good thing about having your usage data in a spreadsheet like this is that now you can do "what if" scenarios. Say you go over limit or get FAP'ed. You will easily be able to see when you will get unfapped if you download nothing from that point forward, or you can add estimated data out forward of todays date to see different effects on your usage. It will be obvious to anyone entering data into the spreadsheet how big an effect the current FAP policy has in how fast your data comes off. If you get fapped, you could be "in jail" for a lot longer than you think. If you see any glaring errors, feel free to fix the spreadsheet and upload a corrected version Just make sure to rename it..give it a sequential number like WB1 or WB2 so we all know what version is current. Don't forget to tell us what the error was and how you fixed it. You'll need WinZip (or something similar) to unzip it. Have fun Dave

Looks good, just so folks know, using Linux this unzips fine using Linux tools & runs in Open Office. I input some test data & it appears to work correctly.

I made a simple addition to the spreadsheet by adding a column to keep track of WildBlue data. Here's a screenshot.....
![]() The added columns (in yellow) will allow you to input whatever your usage is for that given day as reported by WildBlue. This should make it easier to compare what your system usage is, to what WildBlues recorded usage for you is. If everything is working right, the number you put into the yellow column should match (or be relatively close) to the number in the blue column. I would think it best to pick the same time everday (either first thing in the morning, or the last thing in the evening) and stick with it. One last addition is a second page (look towards the bottom of Excel workbook). You should see a Download page and an Upload page. It should be pretty obvious what thats for. I added this for those of you that need to track your upload usage in addition to download usage. Both pages are identical...one just labeled Download and one Upload. At the bottom of either worksheet, you have three lines that show your monthly data usage (in green), your monthly ending rolling total (in blue), and your monthly ending wb usage total (in yellow). The green cell simply sums all the data you've entered for the month in the green column. The blue and yellow cell simply copy the last months data entry and move it down to the bottom of the sheet...these two cells perform no other calculations. As before, the worksheets are protected with a password to prevent inadvertent changing of formulas. If you need to change a formula or make additions or modifications, the password is "wb" (just as before, both letters lowercase and without quotes). The new file name has been indexed to show its latest revision number Dave

Thanks for the spreadsheet- I'm going to try and use it
![]() I've had WB for about 60days and I was just dinged for FAP abuse! I would not of thought there would be a problem, however, with 3 Teenagers and 3 separate computers I guess the Pro plan is not enough?? Has anyone heard of the Wildblue-Dove system?? This is supposed to be an enterprise system? higher download capacity?
